Ninon Devis Salvy works across creative machine learning for music, instrument design, and a performance practice rooted in techno and experimental music . Her research explores what it takes to give musicians meaningful control over generative systems; the instruments she builds turn those questions into playable forms, tested through performance.

She is an Audio Research Engineer at Native Instruments in Berlin, where she worked on the Absynth 6 Preset Explorer, a spatial interface for navigating sounds by their sonic character rather than by name. She holds a PhD from IRCAM / Sorbonne Université focused on real-time neural synthesis on embedded hardware, research that led to Neurorack, an early hardware instrument pioneering embedded AI for real-time musical performance. In 2023, she was an invited student researcher with Google Brain’s Magenta team.

She produces and performs as Ninon, with releases on Terenor Records and live electronic and DJ sets across Europe and Japan. Recent projects include the audiovisual duo N / V with Victor Calvi, the Wilding AI residency at MONOM during CTM Festival 2025, and an upcoming live performance at Berghain’s Säule in September.
