ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

FOR MuSiC FrOnTiErS 2026

This page gives you the practical information you need to plan your visit to MUSIC FRONTIERS 2026 (September 17–18, Hamburg).

It covers wheelchair access, sensory and neurodivergent accommodations, transport routes, companion tickets, and how to request specific support. If something isn't covered here, contact us directly at contact@musicfrontiers.com. We'd rather answer ten questions than have one person stay home because they couldn't find the information they needed.

Both conference venues - Schmidtchen and Angie's Nightclub (inside Schmidts Tivoli) - are located at Spielbudenplatz 21 and 27–28, 20359 Hamburg, on the Reeperbahn in St. Pauli. They sit within the same theater complex but have separate entrances and different access arrangements, so read the sections for each venue below.

getting to the venues

Spielbudenplatz is well connected by public transport, and the most relevant stations all offer barrier-free access.

By U-Bahn, take the U3 to St. Pauli. That's the closest stop, with step-free access to platform level.

By S-Bahn, the S1 or S3 to Reeperbahn station brings you within a few minutes' walk.

By bus, lines 36 and 37 stop at Davidstraße, directly adjacent to the venue complex. All three routes put you on Spielbudenplatz without encountering stairs.

If you're arriving by car, there is a Tiefgarage (underground car park) directly at Spielbudenplatz.

From the transport stops to either venue entrance, the route along Spielbudenplatz is flat and paved

sensory and neurodivergent access

We want to be straightforward about what we can and cannot provide in 2026, so you can plan accordingly.

hearing

Unfortunately, live captioning, CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation), and sign language interpretation will not be provided at MUSIC FRONTIERS 2026. We recognize this is a significant gap and are working to address it in future editions.

Unfortunately, an induction/hearing loop will not be available at either venue.

If you are deaf or hard of hearing and attending with your own interpreter or communication support, we will do our best to seat you in an optimal position near the stage. Please register your requirements by the deadline below.

neurodivergent access and sensory sensitivities

We will publish the full session timetable as early as possible before the event to help you plan which sessions to attend and when to take breaks. If you have specific sensory needs, such as sensitivity to strobe lighting, loud music in the networking venue, or crowded environments, please let us know when you register so we can advise you on which parts of the program may be most comfortable for you.

companion and assistant access

If you are attending with a personal assistant, companion, or carer, they are welcome at MUSIC FRONTIERS 2026. Personal assistants and companions receive a free ticket.

To arrange this, please send an email to contact@musicfrontiers.com with the name of your companion and your own registration details. We will issue a separate companion credential.

Companions will have the same access to all conference sessions and networking events as the delegate they are accompanying. There is no separate registration form. A single email to the address above is sufficient.

requesting accommodations

The earlier we know about your access requirements, the better we can prepare. Please register any access needs by September 14, 2026, at the latest. This gives us enough time to coordinate seating, entrance assistance, and any additional arrangements.

To register your requirements, email contact@musicfrontiers.com with:

  • Your name and registration/ticket reference
  • A description of your access needs (as specific as you're comfortable being; the more detail you share, the more precisely we can prepare)
  • Whether you'll be accompanied by a personal assistant (if you haven't already arranged a companion ticket)
  • Any questions about the venues, transport, or program that aren't answered on this page

You'll receive a personal reply and not an automated confirmation within five working days.

on-site support

During the conference, a member of our team will be designated as the accessibility contact on site. Their name, phone number, and location will be communicated to all delegates who have registered access requirements before the event.

We will ensure that front-of-house and registration staff are briefed on the accessibility arrangements at both venues and can direct you to accessible entrances, toilets, and seating.

what we can't yet promise and what we're working on

This page reflects what we know today.

We are also honest about the limitations of this year's edition: the absence of captioning, sign language interpretation, and hearing loop provision is a shortcoming we take seriously. If these services are important to your attendance decision, please tell us. Your feedback directly shapes what we prioritize for 2027.

If you have a question this page doesn't answer, or if something here is unclear, contact contact@musicfrontiers.com. A real person will read your email and respond.
