Director, Global Client Services & In-House Forensic Musicologist | Downtown Music Publishing
Sarah Davis is the Director of Global Client Services at Downtown Music Publishing, where she oversees the administrative and operational experience for a roster of over 300 premier publishing clients worldwide. She also plays a key role within the organization as the In-House Forensic Musicologist, handling infringement matters across all Downtown companies.
A classically trained instrumentalist, Sarah began her career as a public school Band and Orchestra instructor (K–6) before transitioning into the music industry. She began her industry journey working alongside a respected forensic musicologist in New York, which laid the foundation for her unique expertise at the intersection of musicology and rights management. Since joining Downtown, she has contributed significantly to the company’s evolution—first in sync licensing, then as a founding member of the Client Services department. Her leadership has helped shape the global client experience for some of the industry’s most influential independent publishers.
In recognition of her contributions, Sarah was named to A2IM’s inaugural Rising 20: Indie Music Leaders list. She is also the author of Sound Judgement: Musicology in the Modern Music Business, an ongoing editorial series published by Downtown in collaboration with the Association for Electronic Music (AFEM).
