This session will present and discuss the new Music Tech Coalition as it is preparing to launch and start exploring ways to address common music industry challenges together. The timing couldn’t be more critical. What does the Coalition have in store, and how can organizations get involved?

The music industry's most pressing challenges, such as fragmented metadata, opaque rights infrastructure, barriers to AI licensing, the concentration of platform power, and the exclusion of independent players from critical data ecosystems, are not problems any single organization can solve alone. They require coordination, shared standards, collective advocacy, and the kind of sustained collaboration that the music sector has historically struggled to maintain. The Music Tech Coalition is being built to change that.

This session marks one of the first public presentations of the Music Tech Coalition as it prepares to launch: who is behind it, what brought them together, and what the Coalition is being built to do.

The session is also an open invitation. Which organisations should be part of this? What challenges does the room believe require collective solutions that the industry has so far failed to coordinate around? And how can music companies, trade bodies, platforms, startups, and individual advocates get involved in shaping the Coalition's direction before it is set?

A rare opportunity to be in the room at the beginning of something.
