SCHMIDTCHEN & ANGIE'S - HAMBURG | REEPERBAHN

ABOUT THE VENUES

schmidtchen

Where experimentation meets the Kiez

The Schmidtchen opened in 2015 as the youngest stage in Hamburg's Schmidt family, the private theatre operation at Spielbudenplatz that draws 400,000 visitors per year. Seating up to 200 in a fully modular hall with an integrated bar, it was built to dissolve genre boundaries: theatre becomes concert, cinema becomes panel, and the room reshapes itself between formats with zero downtime.

That's exactly why MUSIC FRONTIERS 2026 at Reeperbahn Festival runs its most concentrated sessions here. Deep-dive panels, fireside talks, inspiring keynotes, and heated discussions all happen in a space where the distance between speaker and audience collapses, and the energy of the Reeperbahn pulses through the walls.

On September 17–18, this stage won't host a show. It will host the conversations that shape what the music ecosystem becomes next.

angie's nightclub

Founded in 1991 by Angie Stardust. She was born in Virginia, raised in Harlem, the first Black star of New York's Club 82, transgender pioneer, soul singer, and star of Rosa von Praunheim's City of Lost Souls.

This nightclub on the upper floor of the Schmidts Tivoli was never just another Reeperbahn bar. Stardust performed here nightly until 1999 and turned the room into one of Hamburg's finest addresses for free-form jazz. She passed in 2007. The club still carries her name.

Renovated in navy blue and gold, with open views onto the Reeperbahn, Angie's serves as the MUSIC FRONTIERS networking and innovation showcase program venue.

It's the perfect place for a gathering of pioneers, visionaries, innovators, and bright music minds.
